You've probably been here before

You wait on hold, then get handed to someone reading from a script who has never seen your setup. You email a ticket on Monday and hear back Thursday. You're told it'll be fixed by the end of the week. The week ends. It isn't.

Most small businesses in Knoxville are too small to justify a full-time IT hire and too small to be a priority for the big regional providers. That gap is where Workflow IT works: a small team that documents your environment, answers the phone, and fixes what it said it would fix. A twelve-person office gets treated like it matters, because it does.

William Townsend, founder and lead technician at Workflow IT

Who you're actually working with

I'm William Townsend, and I lead Workflow IT. I've spent twenty years in technical support and hold a degree in Information Systems.

Workflow IT is a small team on purpose. The technician who answers your call is one of the people who does the work and documents your environment, and will still be your point of contact next year. There's no tier-one script, no handoff to someone who has never seen your network, and no account manager sitting between you and the fix.

It also means we'll tell you when something is outside what we do well, and point you to someone who does it better.

How it starts

No paid discovery, no ninety-minute sales pitch.

  1. A 15-minute call

Tell us what's breaking and what it's costing you. If Workflow IT isn't the right fit, we'll say so on that call.

  2. A walkthrough of what you have

We document your network, devices, licensing and backups so we're both looking at the same picture before anything is quoted.

  3. A written quote

Flat monthly pricing, itemized by user and device, with onboarding and any hardware listed separately. No surprise line items.

Serving Knoxville and East Tennessee

Remote support anywhere in the region, onsite visits across five counties, and cabling projects further out by arrangement.

Questions Knoxville business owners ask first

What does managed IT support cost for a small business in Knoxville?

Workflow IT bills a flat monthly amount based on how many people and devices are being supported, so the number is predictable and itemized before you sign anything. The exact figure depends on your headcount, how many servers, printers, cameras and other devices are in the mix, and whether you need onsite visits included. A short walkthrough is enough to give you a written quote.

Do I have to sign a long contract?

No. Agreements are month to month after onboarding. If the service isn't working for you, you can leave, and you keep your documentation, passwords and licenses on the way out.

Who actually answers when I call?

A technician who knows your environment, not a tier-one script. Workflow IT is a small team led by William Townsend, and there's no handoff to someone who has never seen your network. If everyone is mid-session with another client, you'll get a callback rather than a hold queue.

Do you work with businesses outside Knoxville?

Yes. Workflow IT covers Knox, Blount, Anderson, Loudon and Sevier counties for both remote and onsite work, and takes structured cabling projects further out on a case-by-case basis.

Can you take over from another IT company?

Yes, and it happens more often than you'd think. The handoff starts with documenting what you actually have, changing the passwords the previous provider knew, and confirming your backups are real before anything else changes.

Do you handle structured cabling, or just computers?

Both. Cabling is done in house rather than subbed out, which is unusual for a small IT firm. New drops, cleanup of an existing closet, racks and patch panels, testing and labeling are all part of what Workflow IT does.

Tired of fixes that never quite arrive?
